Piner High School6

Santa Rosa, CA | Sonoma County

I have attended Piner high school all 4 year. I have to say that Piner is an outstanding school that has alot to offer to a wide variety of students. The teachers for the most part are very hands on and welcoming. As with every school, their are negative and positive sub cultures among the student body in regards to social behaviors. Yet, it is very easy to stay on the stringent and arrow with the full support and encouragement from the faculty. In all; Piner is a school that gives you opportunity to thrive and accomplish.

This school has provided me with a great experience overall. I attended all four of my high school years here. As a former student I know that this school is recognized for its distinguished challenging and educational math, science, and technology courses as well as some of its sports and other extracurricular programs such as the Early College Magnet Program. If you are looking for a school to gear your child for college and a career that lay in the math, science, or technology field then this is the place to go. The experience is what you it your child make of it.

I had a great experience as a student of this school and found the teachers to be passionate experts in their fields of study and great at conveying the material to the students. Students got a lot of personal attention from teachers, and the teachers seemed to enjoy their jobs and were very devoted to the students' education. Having spent some time in the real world after getting college and graduate degrees, I can say that none of my colleagues have been better prepared than I was based on high school education.

Piner is a great school and if a student wants to achieve, go to college and do well, they are given every opportunity. They have a fantastic science department, with many opportunities thatother schools in the county can not offer. The English Department, especially AP/Honors is top rate. The campus is safe, calm, and a good learning environment. My students got acepted to every college they applied to. We are involved parents and have had the pleasure of working with many staff members, students, and other parents. Send your kid to Piner, it's great.

I am a Sophmore at Piner High School. If you are a parent or a child planning on attending Piner High, there are things you need to know that might bring some concern to your learning or graduating plans. One to start off with, the staff isn't all as perfect as they say or seem. Half of them are quite cruel and unfair. But there are some very kind teachers that will help you and your child with some problems you might be having. Another thing, watch out for teachers like that. They are unfair and rude, so if you suspect your child's teacher is like that, take action immedietly, or else it might cost your child and others the education they need for another one's double standards. My advice, watch your kids and their behavior to their teachers and staff VERY carefully. Your child should get the education they deserve.

My daughter is a freshmen at Piner High this year. My main concerns about the teachers are that, according to my daughter, that when a student doesn't understand something or has missed some information, due, to say an absence, and they ask for help or clarification from a teacher, in variety of subjects the response is, 'you should already know this, don't ask me, ask a fellow student.' I've also left 3 messages this year on her counselors phone, with concerns about her grades and haven't received any call backs! Major dissappointment!!

Piner is a wonderful, diverse high school that has the same problems that any high school has. The teachers are mostly first rate and the classes offered are challenging and as stimulating as your child chooses to make them. It is really all up to the student. Piner offers a safe, now beautiful, academic environment that everyone is working on making the best it can be. The population is by far the most diverse and interesting in the Sonoma county area. Parents are invited to attend many groups and to participate often. The sad truth is , it is no worse than any other school in parent involvement, except that Piner Pride is at a low (But climbing!)If you support your school and are involved in your students education, Piner is a wonderful place to be involved in.

This is our 4th year at Piner. I'd rate it a 4. We've found it to be a good school. I think like the majority of schools it is very difficult to get adequate parental involvement.
