Super star Principal and inspiring teachers that nurture a love of learning! Both our son and daughter went went to Meadow from K-6th. Dedicated, top quality, genuinely nice, teachers at every grade level. Principal is smart, attentive and engaged with the kids and parents. After our son graduated we (regretfully in hind site) moved him to the local Catholic school for 7th grade and he clearly entered academically at the top of the class there (even though they think their Catholic school is so much better academically than public school) I assure you Meadow is extremely academic and a much more nurturing environment than then the Catholic school in town.

I am so lucky that my son got to spend his elementary education in Meadow School. We recently moved to India for his 6th grade and I believe Meadow's commitment to academic excellence is the reason my son has adjusted well at his new school seamlessly. Meadow school staff and principal are wonderful and their care, support, encouragement and discipline is the backbone for its success. I would recommend Meadow to any parent.

You couldn't find a better public or private elementary school in Sonoma or Marin County. Everything about Meadow is structured to develop good citizens, learning, and academic achievement. Bullying and/or other bad behaviors among the student body are not tolerated. The values learned and academic advancements earned by my kids are obvious and tangible. When my son needed help in fluency and comprehension, he received help after school for a number of months. The results was that his grades significantly improved and he enjoyed school more every year he was there. No kids are not left behind academically at Meadow. I feel like all kids are provided the necessary support to excel. Meadow isn't a private school but if it were, I'd pay the tuition to have my kids there.

My children love their school and teachers at Meadow. The dedication of the staff and parent involvement is what makes this school exceptional. The school focuses on strong academics and character building traits. I find that Meadow has a friendly atmosphere and the office staff is very helpful. Ultimately, it's about finding a school that is amenable to working with you for the betterment of your child, and I think Meadow does that.

For the most part, we feel very fortunate to live in the Waugh School District. The teachers and other staff are very committed to the children academically. Although, parent involvement is probably higher than average, there is clearly a strong clique of parents. The school's apparent failure to recognize and separate the clique of children themselves lends strength to the clique. The school would be better if it actively discouraged the cliques by separating these children and providing an opportunity for all children to branch out socially.

we are a military family and move from place to place often. Our three children have attended many schools across the nation and this is by far the best experience we have ever had. The staff is amazing...especially the principal!

If you child has a disability of any kind, this is not the school for you. All this school cares about is making the grade. If i had to do it all over again I'd enroll my child in another school where parents and staff are sincere.

Rarely, if at all, do you find an acedemic environment for young children that embodies a culture of care, respect, trust, learning, and dedicated staff, like the one you'll find at Meadow. Meadow parents must establish a 'hands on' and 'disciplined' approach, on a daily basis, to support their childs academic needs, due to the challenging curriculum and homework. The administration, teachers, and school board are innovative, bright, engauged and are committed to maintain standards that have propelled the school into the top 9% of the state.

I am very happy with this school. The teachers, parents and kids are so positive. The librarian, computer lab and music teachers are awesome! My child loves going to school! We feel so lucky to live here and have this school right here in our backyard! I tell everyone I know how wonderful it is. I can't think of 1 negative thing to say about the school or staff. OK one thing- less homework and more playtime!

Meadow has a very strong academic program and the teachers and staff are very supportive. Socially for new students coming into the school it is very clicky and hard for new students to make friends. I have found that the parents are also very clicky and found myself very uncomfortable there and wishing we could go back to our old school where there was a balance of learning and good social skills. Having the best test scores does not always make or prove to be the balance our children need to be truely successful when they grow up.

I can't say enough fantastic things about this school. We transferred in March 06 from the Central Valley. The teachers, principal and support staff are superb. They are truly interested in the whole child and having a positive learning community for every child. There is considerable effort to accomodate the needs of children with special issues. There are plenty of fun activities during and after school. Academics are strong here but are well balanced with sports, arts and music. Parents here are active and involved on many levels. This is a way cool school!

This is a great school with high academic achievement and test scores. The parents help to meet the academic requirements via abundant homework. The neighborhood and school grounds are very nice and well kept. The comings and goings are well-organized. The rules are overly strict. The extracurricular activities are generous. This can be a difficult environment for children who do not 'fit in the box.'

This is a wonderful school with many ivolved parents that makes it extra special for the kids. The Waugh School district recieved over $100,000 from the Wise Foundation, a group of parents who raise money to support the services and small class sizes at Meadow. It is a blue ribbon school and has very high standards. I highly recommend it.
